"Surely you must know any bard worth his money has many a way in his sleeves to fish for compliments, more subtle and effective that such a direct question!" Subtle, Jaskier? Really? "Not even Queen Calanthe herself was inmune to my hunt for flattery, and thank the gods for that, considering the pickle you put us in."
